people like me have been
silenced since the age of 11

people like me stopped
creating words for years
because of other people’s words

fuck people and their hurtful words
fuck people who are supposed to
inspire
but
harm
instead

i need you to write
and write
and write
and write

even if it sounds like everyone else

  10. I feel like a member of the cool club now. When I typically read your poetry, I find that I ponder it for a while and consider the meaning, the origin, and what could have happened to get you to write these words. In this poem’s case, I feel honored to know what’s actually going on.
