Mid Year Favorites of 2016

Hello all! Since it’s June I thought of doing a mid year favorites of 2016. Just sharing some books that I have shelved in my “Favorites, Forever Loved, Will Always Gush Over, Is This Book Even Real? Ugh My Heart!”

 

 

Six of Crows By Leigh Bardugo. I was really hesitant about picking this book up because I had just finished The Grisha Trilogy and didn’t really enjoy it. I wasn’t hyped up at all to pick this book up but when I started reading it and immersed in the world, HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!! I fell in love with it and couldn’t put it down. All the characters are amazing and lovely. I even want to get tattooed “No Mourners. No Funerals.”
If you like Fantasy, Heist, Magic, Dark Corrupted Worlds, then pick this up!

I was in the mood for a New Adult so I decided to pick up Burying Water since I had received it as a gift from Ilse. And OMG this is not your typical New Adult. It’s character driven and has its own unique story. Yes of course it has romance. All 4 books deal with a romance but it’s so much more than that. The series is a companion series and I actually liked it way more than Tucker’s Ten Tiny Breath Series.
If you like New Adult, Kick Ass Females, Heartwrenching Stories, then pick this up!

Illuminae!!! I initially wasn’t going to pick this up because it had so much hype on Booktube, I thought I wasn’t going to like it. But one Booktuber definitely convinced me to pick up because of the way she had described it. I had first gotten it from the library (the book in the photo was gifted to me after) because I didn’t want to buy it in fear of disliking it. I was so wrong! This story is told by manuscripts, emails, files, etc. and I have to say that it took me a little while to figure it out but I devoured this book!! I can’t wait for Gemina.
If you like SciFi, Corruption, The Walking Dead, then pick this up.

And finally!!!!! A Court of Mist and Fury. When I heard that this book was going to be a Hades and Persephone retelling I was like YAAAAASSSSS GIVE ME IT!! The first book wasn’t my favorite but this book just takes all the cake and glory! I am Feysand TRASH! Feyre and Rhys are my babies. My ultimate OTP of all freaking time. I have definitely reread some chapters of this book and don’t care if people judge me!
Since this book is a series, you would have to read A Court of Thorns and Roses first. But if you like Fantasy, Beauty and The Beast, Hades and Persephone, New Adult, and Fairies then read it.
