New York Comic Con Haul: Vol. 1

Hi everyone!! This past weekend I went to New York Comic Con with my brother and met up with my friend Lilly @ Lair of Books who by the way snagged so many books for me on the day I couldn’t go. So a huge THANK YOU to Lilly for that!!! She’s so awesome.

I’ve been going to Comic Con for the past couple of years now, it’s a thing my brother and I do which is super fun. It was really cool to have a book friend with me to share my excitement on the freebies since my brother isn’t a reader lol. Jay, if you’re reading this, I love you little man! (he also grabs freebies for me if I’m at another booth, even though he has no clue what the book is about lol)

I will be separating this haul into 2.
Volume 1 is about all the books I purchased and the freebies I grabbed that are already released.
Volume 2 is all about the ARCs that have not been released yet (this one will be posted tomorrow).

*note: the title of each book will link you to the Goodreads page

  1. LOVE the cover to The Fade Out *heart eyes* LOL. So many goodies but I’m really looking forward to Replica, Iron Cast (cuz hello Prohibition era! YAS!), and The Fifth Season from this post anyways HAHA! & I’m so glad that the author for Sleeping Giants has made this a series! 🙂

  2. This is such a great haul, and I really can’t wait to see what ARCs you got as well. I really loved When the Moon Was Ours so I hope you do as well, and Replica is one of my most anticipated releases as well. It’s currently sitting on my bookshelves just waiting for me to get around to it. Nimona and Red Rising are two favourites of mine, also I’ve never seen that cover for Red Rising before. It was only when you listed the books below that I realised it was part of your haul!
Seems like you’ve got a lot to get started on, I really hope you enjoy all of them, and the ARCs you got obviously (did you manage to get an ARC of Gemina or will I have to wait until tomorrow to find that out?)
    Great haul! 😀

    • Thanks so much!!!! I hope I love When the Moon Was Ours also because all I read are great reviews for it. I never seen the Red Rising cover either but I guess they did a new one for that mass paperback. Unfortunately, I did not get a Gemina ARC =( I was so sad that they weren’t giving it away.

  3. Mega!
I can’t wait to hear what you think of Wendig’s book… I follow his blog and he definitely has a way with words and he’s hilarious and I’ve been meaning to read his book but haven’t go around to it yet.

I wish we had Comic Con in Ireland.. I think they actually do have something along those lines, but it could not possibly be as cool as in US 🙂 Great haul! 🙂

      • Yeah, he writes a lot about writing challenges and how to be an author etc.. the posts are just hilarious. I always have wet eyes when reading one of his posts, that man has some vocabulary! 😀
I think there’s a convention coming up next year in April which I marked in the calendar and I think I just might go and check it out 🙂 Would be cool I think 🙂

  4. #1: SOOO jealous you went! I have a friend who is the colorist for Goldie Vance and the Pink Ranger comics– I desperately wanted to fangirl out when she was presenting.
#2: HOLY FREE BOOKS! I knew that graphic novels were well represented at NYCC, but I didn’t realize so many amazing new print books would be there. You grabbed a ton of books that I am alll about. And that cover for Red Rising? On Point.
#3: I can’t waaaaitt to read your next post. And all future book reviews about these. Because. Wow.
