Publisher: CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform
Format: Paperback
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Synopsis from Goodreads:
Uncaged Wallflower is for those who feel trapped in the thoughts their minds produce, unable to express them with the rest of the world out of fear of critique or disagreement. For the people who need an extra dose of positivity in their day. This is not a poetry book for you to read and relate to in a sorrow filled way. It is for you to read and say yes, I can be better, and I will.
I firstly want to thank the author Jennae Cecelia for sending me this book to review. Now let’s get to this short mini review =)
A collection of poems for people who need some positivity in their life. This was definitely a heart warming read with only 63 pages and I would recommend it to people who need motivation and some light.
Uncaged Wallflower discusses themes of being yourself, going after what you want, and being kind to others. Jennae also has some poems that talk about love, taking risk, and life all around. Freeing yourself from yourself in a way.
I enjoyed the simplicity of the poems because the message definitely is clear throughout each poem. You don’t have to think your way through to decipher the poems which I feel scares most people away from reading poetry.
Some of my favorite poems are:
Your Words
If the words that spewed out of mouth
were the clothes wrapped up around your
body,
the hair of your head,
the flesh of your skin.
Would you think you are beautiful?
We Are Broken
We are broken people.
Made up of
cracks,
rips,
tears,
bruises,
cuts,
and scars.
But only few choose to pick up the
pieces and form something new out of the
shattered debris.
Caged
I felt bad for the bird in its cage.
Looking out at
the blue sky
and trees.
Because I too felt like I was looking out
at something I wanted but couldn’t have.
Until you were the one to set me free.
And that is it for this review! I would love to know your thoughts, let’s chat in the comments =)

I still need to read some poetry books, I have a few on my to-read list it’s just actually getting around to them in the midst of all the other books on there. Still this one sounds amazing, I really love the poems you included in your review and I think the fact that they are for people who need some positivity in their life appeals to me as well. I’ll definitely be adding this collection to my to-read list! 😀

May be what I do to get through some of the poetry books on my to-read list. Just pick them up every now and again rather than sitting down and reading the whole thing in one go.

I love all of the new poetry (well new to me) that you are introducing me to. I think my favorite of the three would be “We are Broken”. It feels so much more personal ❤

Did you take the review down?I got it and I would not recommend spending my money on it. I was sooo disappointed and triggered by how bad it was lol I saw the book and thought the title was pretty and it looked like something I would read – but I found her poems very cliche. Honestly not good writing. 💔
