Hello I was tagged by Lilly @ Lair of Books and Ash @ Once Upon A Bookshelf for the Beauty and the Beast Tag! CHECK OUT THEIR AWESOME BLOGS!!!!

Also check out the Creator of this Book tag Kirsty @ Kirsty and The Cat Read

1. “TALE AS OLD AS TIME” – A POPULAR THEME, TROPE OR SETTING YOU WILL NEVER GET BORED OF READING.

THE BAD BOY!!!!!!! Oh I will never get tired of the misunderstood bad boy who you hate in the first few chapters and then end up loving because he makes all the sense in the world. I always fall for that trap…I mean trope.

2. BELLE – A BOOK YOU BOUGHT FOR IT’S BEAUTIFUL COVER THAT’S JUST AS BEAUTIFUL INSIDE TOO

23395680-2I mean, I got it as a gift after I read the library edition..so it still counts right? Gosh this book is so beautiful without the jacket on and the inside IS SO AMAZING!!!! (read through documents, IMs, emails, not your regular book format) One of my favorite books. It’s a 5 star read for me.

3. BEAST – A BOOK YOU DIDN’T EXPECT MUCH FROM BUT PLEASANTLY SURPRISED YOU.

18344534This book is a New Adult and I wasn’t really expecting it to be amazing as it turned out to be. One of my favorite New Adult books that I love oh so much. It’s not just the romance but the past of these two characters that bind them together is beautiful. I plan on doing a Mini Review on it soon so watch out for that!

4. GASTON – A BOOK EVERYONE LOVES THAT YOU DON’T

17675462Gasp, kick, and cry all you want….I WILL NEVER GIVE THIS SERIES ANOTHER TRY. I just can’t do it. I have a more in depth reason as to why here.

5. LEFOU – A LOYAL SIDEKICK YOU CAN’T HELP BUT LOVE MORE THAN THEIR COUNTER PART.

11235712-2IKO!!!!! Please no spoilers!!! I haven’t read Cress and Winter yet, but I love me some Iko! Iko is an android, btw. Iko is so loyal and my heart panicked a few times when I thought bad things would happen.

6. MRS POTTS, CHIP, LUMIER & COGSWORTH – A BOOK THAT HELPED YOU THROUGH A DIFFICULT TIME OR THAT TAUGHT YOU SOMETHING VALUABLE

270730I read Crank when I was teenager. My teenage years were really hard but getting lost within Hopkins writing made me feel better about myself. I almost got into drugs and this book definitely helped me see the light on that world. Crank is based off Hopkins daughter who’s an addict.

7. “SOMETHING THERE” – A BOOK OR A SERIES THAT YOU WEREN’T INTO AT FIRST BUT PICKED UP TOWARDS THE END.

10929432The Archived by Victoria Schwab was really slow in the beginning and I almost DNFed it but then I reached past 100 pages and it got sooooooo good I couldn’t put it down.

8. “BE OUR GUEST” – A FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU’D LOVE TO HAVE OVER FOR DINNER

  1. I like Helena Hunting’s books. I was wondering if Clipped Wings would be good after reading PUCKED and the wedding one. I still need to read the two middle books in that series. I also didn’t like The Raven Boys. I think it’s all hype and not worth all the praise. Cinder is on next month’s TBR. Can’t wait to read it. 🙂 I was also thinking I’d try to read Illuminae. I bought the kindle file, but I think I need a paper copy to see those pics. 🙂

  2. YES! The bad boy trope is my all time favorite. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it no matter how many cliches are thrown in. Also, I so need to pick up Illuminae already. I want to before the end of the year but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to because of review books. I’ll have to look up that book by Helena Hunting as I’ve never read anything by her but I’m always looking for good NA recs. And Tessa would be amazing to have over for dinner. I’ve actually done this one before but either way thanks for the tag and I really enjoyed reading your answers. 😊💕

    • Thanks Melissa!!! I have read so many bad boy tropes and I’m still like “GIVE ME MOREEEEEE PLEASSEEE” lol!!! It’s so bad. I loved Illuminae and I just finished the second installment, Gemina last night which was amazing. I hope when you get to it, that you loooooove it! I’ve only read Clipped Wings series by Helena Hunting but she has other books too which I am going to check out. Tessa is beautiful. I love her so much lol

  3. Nice answers Gray!!! I can thank you for getting me hooked on the bad boy trope through NA…lovely little trap you set up for me indeed my fren’ LOL! I’ve seen you mention Clipped Wings before & have walked by it at B&N a few times in the bargain section so why then haven’t I picked this book up yet? smh must remedy this on Saturday since I’ll be at the Square for my appointment 😉

  4. I’ll have to check out Clipped Wings. And I loved Illuminae too!! 5 stars for sure. I’m reallly glad Ellen Hopkin’s writing helped you in a time when you needed it most. That’s incredible and amazing. I’ve not read Crank yet, but it’s on my TBR and has been for a while now. Thanks for the tag!

  5. Aah, the bad boy trap trope! SO guilty here as well XD

So tell me about the NA book. I’m just so repulsed by the whole genre but I never tried it of course ^^. How much romance are we talking about? Do I want a hard copy of this or just buy it on my Kindle? 😉

I always have to think of Jason Statham when I read the word ‘Crank’, but I see this book is something way better than that! I’m glad you steered clear of the drugs and have hopefully surpassed the crappy teenage years now <3. I wouldn't want to go back there anymore either for sure!
Thank you for the tag!! 😀

  6. Great answers for this tag Gretchen. I definitely agree with you that Illuminae is a book that is so beautiful both in terms of the cover and the contents inside. It’s actually one of my favourite books just because of the way it’s been formatted. Have you read Gemina yet? I can’t decide between Gemina and Illuminae which book is more beautiful. 😀
Also I really loved Iko, she is one of the best sidekicks and I can’t wait to read her story when it’s released! I really need to read The Infernal Devices as well, Tessa sounds like an amazing character so I can’t wait to read more about her! 😀

    • Thanks Beth!! I actually finished Gemina last night and LOOOOVVVVEEEDDDD IT!!! I cannot wait to write my raving review for it lol. Hanna and Nik, omg I just can’t with them and that twist was amazing.
Iko is getting her own book??? I didn’t even know that!! That’s so freaking cool and I am excited =D
TID series is way too cute, your heart will shatter a little though lol

      • Ohh I cannot wait to see your review in that case. I can’t wait to see everyone’s reviews because I just want to see what everything thinks.
Can I just ask, what twist, because I can think of so many off the top of my head that I can’t even begin to guess what one you’re talking about (though as I type this I’m thinking you mean the major one that is where the title of this book came from right?)
Oh yeah, well it’s a graphic novel but it still sounds amazing. I think it’s called Wires and Nerves (or something like that, it will be on Marissa Meyer’s Goodreads page so you’ll be able to find it there.)
I’ve heard various things like that from plenty of other people, enough to let me know I need to start it soon! 😀

  7. “I always fall for that trap…I mean trope.”

    Bahaha Don’t we all?

“I read Crank when I was teenager. My teenage years were really hard but getting lost within Hopkins writing made me feel better about myself. I almost got into drugs and this book definitely helped me see the light on that world. Crank is based off Hopkins daughter who’s an addict.”

Thank you for being so honest. I’m happy to hear that you did not go down that dark road. I just had a friend loose his battle with drug addiction this year.

  8. Thanks again for doing my tag! I keep meaning to read the Archived but I think you can only get it on kindle now because it’s not being published anymore and I struggle to keep interest in kindle books (probably because I stare at a screen 8 hours a day at work)

  9. Thanks so much for the tag, Gretchen!! I love anything Disney so I’m more than excited to do this one ❤ And I will never get tired of the bad boy either! Latest examples include Rhys, Ronan, and Kaz Brekker. And I love me some Iko, too! She was one of the best parts of Cinder lol. Lovely post!
