Thanks to Drew @ TheTattooedBookGeek for tagging me!!! Check out his blog, not only does he talk about books but he also has fantastic writing.
On to the questions!!!
- E-book or Physical book?
Can I say both? I like to read my new adults/contemporaries on my kindle and all my other books like Fantasy, Paranormal, and Versed/Poetry books etc. as Physical. I just love holding the book in my hand and feeling the pages. And New Adult physical books are expensive compared to how much I pay on the kindle plus I read those so quick AND THEY DON’T HAVE A MAP! - Paperback or Hardback?
It all depends. I love me some paperback though because they aren’t heavy on the hands, although I do own TONS of hardbacks and if it’s a series, I try to make sure they all match. - Online or In-Store Book Shopping?
Online because it’s cheaper and for some reason, the books always comes in perfect condition versus when I go to the store and they look beaten up. I also like to go in-store though, especially Strands because it’s cheap just for some book therapy. ONLINE for sure though plus coupons for days on top of that cheaper price.
- Trilogies or Series?
Hmmmmm it really depends. I’ve read some amazing trilogies and series. As long as the in-between books don’t suffer from second/third book syndrome, then I don’t really care. - Heroes or Villains?
Going with Drew’s answer and saying anti-hero. I love their brains and mentality and screwed up way of thinking. Then again, I just want to hug them half the time and be like “you’ll be okay, I understand why you’re that way” - A Book You Want Everyone To Read?
I know this a very hyped book in the book community, however I’m just never going to stop talking about it. It’s a fantasy with a group of 6 outcast set on a heist. I don’t have a review of it because I did read this book way before I ever thought of blogging. I love this book so much because of how dark it is and it has very well displayed diversity: Disability, PoC, LGTBQ+. However you can check it out on Goodreads, if you’re interested in checking out. - Recommend an Underrated Author?
Here I am once again mentioning the awesome C.C. Hunter. I don’t ever see her anywhere and when I do, I am usually just as in shock as the person who knows I’m aware of this author. She has written the Shadow Falls series and the spin off, Shadow Falls: After Dark. It’s a YA Paranormal series set in a boarding school for the “troubled”paranormal. - The Last Book You Finished?
Nevernight by Jay Kristoff. It is the first book in The Nevernight Chronicles and you can find my book review here. - Weirdest Thing You’ve Used as a Bookmark?
Gum wrapping paper. One day I had started this new book and forgot to take a bookmark with me to work, so I looked around my bag and used that. - Used Books: Yes or No?
Yes. I don’t mind them, even though I don’t have tons of used books myself. But I have some that are almost brand spanking new and I got them for SUPER CHEAP! - Top Three Favorite Genres?
Fantasy, New Adult, and YA - Borrow or Buy?
BUY. buy buy buy!! I hate borrowing things from people. Point, period, blank. - Character or Plot?
Both. I feel like in order for a book to excel, you need both equally. - Long or Short Books?
I really think it all depends on the genre/plot of the book. Like what is the trying to accomplish? If it’s a contemporary/new adult, then I prefer those to be short and to the point. If it’s a fantasy, dystopian, or paranormal, then I prefer those to be long because of the world building and character development. I like when those kind of books take their time building a very well developed world/characters. - Name The First Three Books You Think Of
-Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas
-Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
-Consequences by Aleatha Romig - Books That Make You Laugh or Cry?
I feel like I’ve answered this before but I’m gonna go with cry. I always remember those more because I’m so freaking sensitive!!! - Our World or Fictional Worlds?
Fictional. I read to escape. - Audiobooks: Yes or No?
HELL. TO. THE. NO. - Do You Ever Judge a Book by it’s Cover?
Guilty as charged, yes I do. - Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?
I think it depends on the book. If it’s a long series, then I would say TV. If it’s a standalone or trilogy, then movie. I mean I actually prefer none but it is what it is. - A Movie or TV-Show You Preferred to its Book?
I would have to go with The Maze Runner. That book was horrible in my opinion but the movies are pretty good, not going to lie. - Series or Standalone’s?

Thanks for the shout out at the beginning. Some awesome answers! Anti-hero all the way! Totally agree with reading to escape to and the Hell No to audiobooks! I don’t get why people like audiobooks, books are for reading and music is for audio!!! 🙂

You’re welcome! Thanks again for tagging me. If I wanted to read about our world, I wouldn’t read at all. Instead, I would watch the news all day lol. And I completely agree with you, music is for audio. I just can’t with audiobooks, tried that ONCE and totally failed.

Ha, I tried it once to and no, it’s not right! 🙂
Ha, true, if I wanted real world misery the news is for that, reading is to escape this world and it’s problems. 🙂

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY! Glad that we see eye to eye

Great answers Gretchen. I hate the fact that NA books are more expensive. Like, when you go onto Book Depository, The Deal by Elle Kennedy is like €15 and the kindle version is under €5. Love the fact that you’ve managed to mention Shadow Falls again. It definitely deserves all the praise you’ve given it.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting! Those prices are the same for USA in $ amount. It’s 15 for a PAPERback and either free-$5 for the kindle version. I love C.C. Hunter! She deserves all the hype =)

Of course! Mmh. Well, things are cheaper in dollars so I feel that’d amount to even more. Irish booksellers don’t even really have a NA section. Like online, they’re usually just under romance. Most definitely!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah, same here in the USA! There isn’t a new adult section, it’s also under romance or fiction. We should get a NA section. That would be awesome!

Oh! I thought it may be just because of the fact that we’re a small country. There isn’t a wide variety of NA so I usually just buy the e-books for that reason also. I hate sometimes the fact that I just really want a physical copy and I can’t because it’s too expensive to get shipped and there’s no choice here. Definitely! I would love that. It’s the bridge between YA and A and it should most definitely be included

These questions are hard! & now I have to answer them haha. seriously though thanks for the tag! 🙂
Is there a reason you don’t like audio books? Your answer made it look like you very much despise them!

You’re welcome lol and I do despise audiobooks. I don’t find the appeal to them. 😬

Fair enough. I still want to try listening to one, I haven’t gotten around to it yet. I love my podcasts too much to listen to audiobooks haha!

I like your opinion on audiobooks and I completely agree. Also, I’m a little guilty of skimming things that have a ton of descriptions, so when I’m listening I kind of just want to skip through that part of the book, but I can’t because it’s an audiobooks. I love this post!

Thanks so much! Feel free to do the tag. Audiobooks are unbearable to me lol. I respect everyone that listens to it. I can imagine the tone of voice giving a description is boring. Bleh!
LikeLiked by 1 person
I’ll be sure to do the tag if I have time! I also respect people who can listen to an audiobook and do smoething else at the same time. I would never be able to do that, books generally require my complete focus

Yes!! Same here! I’ve heard of people who clean their whole house while listening to one. I’m like what?!?!
LikeLike
And I generally read faster than the audiobook reads it, so it take me a lot longer to listen to it than it would to read it like a normal book. I might be able to clean, like, a closet listening to an audiobook, but deffinitely not an entire house!

I had a lot of trouble deciding between trilogies and series, did you? They are kind of the same thing since a series is just more than one book, right? Or am I completly wrong?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I think it depends on the story and world building of the book.
LikeLike
Yeah, and sometimes how long it is. I try to avvoid the series that are over seven books because I generally can’t commit to finishing all of them! I like the post!

I can commit to a long series if I start from the first book release. It’s hard to commit when there’s already way too many to books. Thank you!

Yes! I just read Six of Crows and I am in LOVE with the book. Easily one of my top reads this year and one of my all-time favorites. I want everyone to read it too! 😀 I’ve even started talking about it to my friends who don’t read much, but even THEY seem interested in the plot. Who doesn’t love a good heist?
Awesome answers. Loved this post!

I believe so! Right on the day of release. At least I hope so. Once the day comes, and if the book is delivered on time, I’m dropping everything to read that book lol. SoC is my heart. Who are your favorite characters? Mine are Kaz and Inej. But I also REALLY love Jesper 😀

Ugh I don’t really have a favorite because I love them all!!! Buuuuuut if I had to chose I would say Kaz, Inej, and Jesper also

Yes! I know. It’s so hard to choose among them. It took me a while to warm up to Matthias but I can’t see the group without him now 😀

Ahhhh! I LOVE audiobooks! I am literally able to read 2+ extra books a month because I listen to audiobooks. I listen to them while driving, at the gym, running, doing housework, etc. etc.

Ahh I’m sorry! I can’t do it! I have a hard time concentrating on audiobooks. I like to sit still and read a physical book. I’m happy that works out for you though!
